Nursery
The infant program at New Beginnings is more than just “babysitting.” Our comprehensive, research-based curriculum turns responsive daily routines and everyday moments into meaningful experiences that encourage learning and development. Your baby’s days made up of routines: feeding, rocking, changing, and more. We intentionally use this time to nurture your infant’s curiosity, help them feel secure, and create a language-rich environment of warm, loving, and meaningful interactions. This is what helps build the foundation for the child’s future success in school and in life.
Learning Objectives
At this age, our teachers focus on developing basic language skills and gross and fine motor skills. Our classroom is stocked with age appropriate toys, and has wide-open spaces to allow for crawling and pushing toys. We work on “tummy time,” and as your child grows, helping them to sit up at a table for meals.
Our curriculum is rooted in 38 research-based objectives that are aligned with state early-learning guidelines and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. You can see these objectives in detail on our Curriculum Page.

Nutrition and Meal Times
New Beginnings provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks as part of your tuition. We know that mornings can be hectic, and so we take breakfast and having to pack food for the day “off your plate.” We provide healthy meals that meet the Federal Food Program guidelines for nutritional requirements and portion size for your child’s age, cooked by a full-time chef who prepares a monthly menu.
In the Infant Class, Good Start Gentle formula is provided. Iron fortified cereal along with vegetables which include green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. The fruits consist of apples, bananas, peaches, and pears. Other formulas or breast milk can be brought in. When your child is ready, our teachers will help introduce solids at meal times. As your child grows and moves into the older classes, teachers and students eat “family style” around a table with plates, cups, napkins, and utensils, because mealtime is prime opportunity for social development.
