Preschool: 4-Year-Old Class

As your child enters preschool, your choice of childcare becomes even more important. You want to make sure that your child is nurtured and safe, but you also want them to be ready for Kindergarten. You may be looking for a preschool with high academic standards. Or you may be worried that your child will be pushed too hard too fast. These are all valid concerns.

At New Beginnings, we believe that that the best way to help children succeed is to teach them to be creative, confident thinkers. Using our comprehensive, researched-based curriculum, we offer them plenty of opportunities for hands-on exploration and discovery that help build lifelong critical thinking skills and cultivate confidence. We also place a high importance on fun, using play as the vehicle for intentional learning. With this combination of learning and play, we excel at meeting the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and early learning standards for Kentucky.

Learning Objectives

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool provides teachers with the content and tools needed to encourage and support every type of learner and address all the important areas of learning. The curriculum is rooted in 38 research-based objectives that are aligned with state early learning guidelines and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. You can see these objectives in detail on our Curriculum Page.

Nutrition and Meal Times

New Beginnings provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks as part of your tuition. We know that mornings can be hectic, and so we take breakfast and having to pack food for the day “off your plate.” We provide healthy meals that meet the Federal Food Program guidelines for nutritional requirements and portion size for your child’s age, cooked by a full-time chef who prepares a monthly menu.

Teachers and students eat “family style” around a table with plates, cups, napkins, and utensils, because mealtime is prime time for social development. Read more about our Nutrition Program here or see this month's menu.
